Entries have closed for the Express & Star Business Awards 2012. Finalists featured in-paper on March 13 and the winners will be announced at a glittering awards ceremony on Thursday, March 22.
There are two stages to taking part in this competition: Firstly register your company’s interest, then prepare a formal entry for the categories in which you stand the best chance - there can be no more than three final entries from any company.
The competition, which is free to take part in, is open to all companies/organisations wholly or mainly based in and around the Black Country and south Staffordshire region, reflecting the Express & Star circulation area.
To register your interest complete the registration form, which asks for basic contact information and indicate which categories you are considering. An Express & Star reference number will be emailed back to you for each one. This needs to be quoted on your final entry form and without it, your submission will not be accepted.
Having registered your interest there is a choice of ways to submit your actual entry or entries (up to a maximum of three per company).
You can make the whole entry online or use the hyperlink sent with your Express & Star registration number. The form includes a section asking for common information and three A4 pages on which to explain why your business should be selected as one of the finalists. Each category entry will need to be completed separately and each one must have its own Express & Star registration number. All entries must reach us by Friday, January 13 2012.
Alternatively, you can download the entry form and attach this document to your entry (maximum of three A4 pages printed one side only) where you need to sell your company’s claim to that category title.
Hard copies should be address to Express & Star Business Awards 2012, Promotions Department, Express & Star, Queen Street, Wolverhampton WV1 1ES.
Remember, entries which do not have an Express & Star registration number will be refused.
Forms and completed entries must reach us by close of business on Friday January 13 2012. Online entries have the same deadline of Friday January 13 2012.
Company information will be treated in the strict confidence and will not be disclosed to anyone other than the panel of judges and final judges. If applicable, contact details of all companies who register an interest to enter will be made available to the campaign sponsors. Initial judging takes place straight after the closing date and three finalists are selected in each category. Sponsors cannot enter their own category.
The chosen finalists will be visited onsite some time during the last two weeks of February. The selection of the three finalists in each category will be at the discretion of the judging panel according to the laid down criteria.
Video filming of the finalist companies will take place during early March, with this footage used during the awards evening.
Representatives from the three finalists in each category will receive four complimentary tickets to the awards dinner on Thursday evening, March 22 2012, at Wolverhampton Racecourse.
The winners of each of the awards will be presented with a trophy and must be prepared to take part in any publicity throughout the campaign.
